Phonics Foundations & Cognitive Load
Pure Sounds: Always model sounds cleanly without an 'uh' at the end (e.g. 'mmmm' not 'muh'). This drastically reduces the cognitive load required to blend sounds together.
Visual Scaffolding: Throughout the app, words are explicitly segmented with 'sound dots' (single phonemes) and 'sound dashes' (digraphs/trigraphs). The decoders dynamically group these into unified word blocks. This visual grouping supports all pupils to clearly see word boundaries and phonetic chunks instantly.
